High quality

A good portrait, regardless of whether it is created with pencil, charcoal, pastels or oil paint, depends not only on the artist's skills (some call it talent), experience or idea. The materials the artist uses in his work are almost equally important. In short: quality above all.

Even the best artist will not be satisfied with his work if he uses poor quality paints that will not spread well on the canvas. You can't compare ordinary white sheets of paper to a professional sketchbook. It is these, seemingly quite small, elements that have a great impact on the final effect, which is a successful portrait.

What do the basic tools of a portrait artist look like? This is a full range of good quality pencils: from very soft to very hard. Additionally, crayons, pastels, charcoal pencils and sticks, drawing inks, professional pastels and a sketchbook of the highest quality. Only such a set gives me confidence that the portrait I create will satisfy even the most demanding clients.

Paints, of course, are a completely separate issue. I like to use oil paints the most — they perfectly cover the canvas, have a huge range of colors that allow you to reflect any shade of the subject's skin or clothes, and also help to achieve a beautiful final effect. However, there is no good oil paint without great quality brushes. It's not worth saving on them – those of lower quality may lose bristles or leave unsightly marks on the portrait. A well-primed canvas is similarly important. Such a professional, good-quality set may not guarantee a successful end result, but it will certainly help in creating it.

For years, I have been relying only on good quality materials and accessories from proven, reputable companies. Thanks to this, each of my clients can be sure that the portrait they order will please their eyes for a long time.
